Serenity  Accounting

Accounting  Firm  for  Nonprofits
A Different Approach to Nonprofit Finance

About Serenity Accounting:

Serenity Accounting was created by Jacob Millington, CPA. We exclusively serve the nonprofit sector and specialize in accounting and tax services for not-for-profit organizations. Serenity Accounting is founded on the below principles.

  • Specialization - We are experts with respect to nonprofit accounting and tax rules. We work exclusively with nonprofit organizations and this allows us to best guide you through the unique regulations affecting the not-for-profit sector.

  • Pricing - We believe that the contribution revenue (or other revenue) your nonprofit solicits is best spent on your mission; not our services. We also believe that all nonprofits deserve access to quality accounting and tax services at prices their budgets can afford. All our services are priced at a significant discount, without diminished quality.

  • Quality - We strive to "get it right the first time through". Our experience has proven that the rules affecting the nonprofit sector are too complex for an accounting firm to "dabble" with a few not-for-profit clients during slow periods. Our work is significantly more accurate and compliant when compared to our competitors.

  • Investment - We believe that dollars invested in accounting and tax work should not be wasted money. Our services seek to increase programmatic success AND satisfy compliance - via the same dollar spent. A dollar invested in our services could create two additional dollars in programmatic success through a better ability to fundraise or a better ability to invest in programs with the highest rate of impact.

  • Programmatic Success - We attempt to create accounting departments that foster tools and reports that can be used to improve your nonprofit's operational success.

  • Unique Philosophy - We believe in the importance of the cost-benefit principle. This is the idea that one should not spend more money on something than the benefit received from that something. The services a start-up nonprofit needs are very different than what is required for a multi-million dollar annual budget nonprofit. Our services can be tailored to accounting budgets ranging from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars. We strive to listen to your particular desires and create solutions that blend your needs with regulatory compliance.

  • Invest Early - Our experience shows that when nonprofits invest in accounting and technology services in the early stages of their life cycle, they have greater programmatic impact in the long-run.
